North Star Training

The measure of any organization is in the quality of its leadership. Well trained volunteers play a vital role in Girl Scouting.  Proper training will help you be more successful in your role as a Girl Scout Leader.  GSGRC requires leaders to complete three basic trainings: Orientation to the Organization, Age Level (Daisy, Brownie, etc.) and Valuing Differences within six months of your appointment or bridging.  If you have not completed your required trainings in the time allowed, you will not be able to re-register as an 01 or 02.  You may complete these trainings by attending a classroom session or by completing a home study packet.  Optimum learning occurs in the classroom setting due to interaction with other volunteers and the trainer. Valuing Differences is not available as a home study course. The home study packets are available from Patti McDonald or from www.grgsc.org <http://www.grgsc.org/> .

The schedule for all council trainings is in the Adult Resource Manual, section F. You will receive the ARM on disc at the SU meeting or you can find it online at the council website.  New this year - you can search for a training on our on-line searchable database.  Search by date, training type, location, etc.  This option is coming soon. Visit www.grgsc.org in early August to access this feature.
